An archipelago of 300 artificial islands shaped like the continents of the World is being constructed off the coast of Dubai and each island will be sold at an average of $25m. Autoblog reports that Dubai’s crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, intends to give one of the islands as a gift to retired F1 racer Michael Schumacher. My only suggestion is to build those islands rather high with the rising sea levels due to global warming so peple don’t spend $25m and then have their own Atlantis a few years later.
On the official website of the Panama Canal Authority you’ll find live cameras from different points of interest as well as animations demonstrating the transit from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean and how the locks work that lift/lower the vessels onto different sea levels.
