In 2003 during the NORFANZ expedition scientists collected a large number of new species along the two major submarine mountain ranges in the Tasman Sea between Australia and New Zealand. The most remarkable catch was probably the Fathead (genus Psychrolutes) which was affectionately called ‘Mr Blobby’.
