The Doors: The End
We recently did the lonely-island-one-song-only-game. And my answer to that question is always: Dire Straits Sultans Of Swing. Then we flipped to the dream concert question (no matter whether dead or alive, which gig would you want to see?). I chose Led Zeppelin and The Doors. Double gig. I might actually turn that into a festival. Not that easy… Back to The Doors though, one of the tracks I currently often listen to is Spanish Caravan:

If it’s going to come down to a Doors song on that lonely-island-one-song-only-game, I’m partial to When the Music’s Over. The YouTube clip of it is pretty good. But The End runs a close second. The first time I ever ate acid was at the Doors concert at the Long Beach Coliseum in 1969. Amazing. Not amazing enough that I wanted to keep doing it, of course — we all grow up at some point — but the Doors simply blew my mind.
Jeez, I envy you for that one. Must have been epic.
Security found us underneath some risers at 5:30 the next morning, if I recall correctly. We thought the show was still going on. Ah, youth…
Sounds like good times. What other bands did you see back then?
